Dave RoodePresidentdave.roode@timbermart.ca

Dave is a second generation member of the Roode family to work at HubCraft, following in his father, the founder, Carl’s footsteps and has over forty years of full-time service. He graduated from Saint Mary’s University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and will reach 40 years of full-time service in August 2012. Dave married the love of his life, JoAnne, in 1983 and together they have raised two wonderful children, Marissa and Matthew, who have followed Dad into the family business. Dave also has a passion for sports with his beloved teams, the Chicago Blackhawks, Cleveland Indians, and Philadelphia Phillies at the top of his list. He still holds out the hope that his Cleveland Browns are finally on their way to building that Super Bowl team he longs for. Four furry family members (Golden Retrievers) Kane, Toews, Magnuson and Teravainen also have a special place in Dave’s heart.

Fun Fact: Dave’s favourite team, the Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup in 1961 and didn’t win again until 2010, the year Dave celebrated his 61st birthday.


Marissa RoodeStore Managermarissa.roode@timbermart.ca

Marissa is part of the third generation to work at HubCraft. She loves being a part of the family business and the HubCraft team. She enjoys the busy atmosphere of working in the building supply industry coupled with the small-town feel of knowing and helping people throughout the community. Marissa enjoys a number of sports, including baseball, ball hockey, soccer, and she is the captain of her ice hockey team. In addition to playing sports, Marissa practices and teaches yoga and volunteers her time coaching minor hockey. Marissa’s other interests include hiking, kayaking, and running.

Fun Fact: Marissa had an unassisted triple play as a second baseman while playing minor league fastball.


Scott FraserKitchen Design – scott.fraser@timbermart.casfraser38@hotmail.com

Scott has been working at HubCraft for more than two decades and first began as a salesperson on the front counter. In 1998 HubCraft expanded their business and began offering custom designed kitchen cabinets from Island Cabinet Shop located in Cape Breton. He soon began designing and coordinating the installation of the cabinets on a full-time basis. Scott enjoys the design aspect of the business and finds it fulfilling to experience the transformation a new kitchen can provide in a new home or as an upgrade to an older home. Scott enjoys being involved in sports and continues to play hockey in the winter and races motocross in the summer. When not at the rink or at the track, he also enjoys fishing, hiking, waterskiing, and spending time at the lake.

Fun Fact: Scott has won nine regional championships and placed 9th at the Canadian nationals in Motocross.


April TeedBathroom Consultant – april.teed@timbermart.ca

April was drawn to the building supply industry and HubCraft by her creative and innovative nature. April realized her love of DIY projects and home renovations was pointing her toward a career in building materials! April loves helping customers make their dream bathroom (new construction or renovation!) a reality. From a young age, April has been an athlete at heart, enjoying hiking, fishing, baseball, and volleyball. April spends a lot of her time with her family and you can often find her in a gym, alongside her husband watching their daughter, Haley, playing highly competitive volleyball. Come in and chat with April if you’re looking for new ideas or inspiration in your bathroom endeavors!

Fun Fact: April is also the mom of two fur babies – Brooke and Lucy!


Jim PetersCustomer Service – jim.peters@timbermart.ca

Jim has worked for HubCraft for almost 30 years. He very much enjoys working for the Roode family and with his coworkers. He really likes dealing with the public and meeting all of the people that working in a retail environment provides. Jim has three children: Matt, 25; Chris, 23; Ashley, 19; as well as his grandkids: A.J. and Annabeth. Jim plays baseball, volleyball, and golf throughout the summer months and as much hockey as he can in the winter.

Fun Fact: Jim has played in five National Old-Timers Baseball Tournaments across Canada.


Joanne Beshely – Bathroom Design – joanne.beshely@timbermart.ca

Joanne works in our kitchen & bath showroom and loves helping customers make their dream bathroom (new construction or renovation!) a reality. She is thirsty for knowledge and is constantly educating herself, which makes her perfect for sourcing just what her customers are looking for. In her spare time, Joanne loves spending time with her husband, Tommy and son, James. She can also be found baking, going for walks, or bike rides in the summer. Joanne loves to travel and recently went with her family to Dubai!

Fun Fact: Joanne has her motorcycle license!


Brandon DunlapYard Foreman – brandon.dunlap@timbermart.ca

Brandon is yard foreman of our crew and takes standard deliveries as well as boom truck deliveries. Brandon is known for his great work ethic and knowledge – especially when it comes to fixing or maintaining vehicles. He can typically be found keeping the yard organized, arranging deliveries, or helping out customers. Brandon enjoys being at home cooking up something tasty on the BBQ or relaxing and spending time with his family. Brandon is slightly outnumbered in his household, with his two adorable daughters.

Fun Fact: Brandon regularly enters (and wins!) truck pull competitions.


Nick Sutherland – Boom Truck Operator

Nick is our Boom Truck Operator and has been an essential part of HubCraft for nearly 20 years. Born and raised in River John, Nick regularly displays that he is a dedicated and reliable employee. Nick enjoys being one of our in-house “mechanics” and is always ready to offer a solution to any problem. At home, Nick and his wife, Melissa, have two beautiful children, Kaylee and Cole. Nick’s hobbies include working on vehicles, fixing up things around the house and snowboarding.

Fun Fact: Growing up, Nick had to fend for himself with three sisters and no brothers!


Vince Weatherbee

Vince hails from Belmont and you will find him hard at work in the yard, assisting customers, and straightening the lumber piles. Along with working in the yard, Vince takes standard, flat-deck, and cube van deliveries. Vince doesn’t shy away from work and often displays his keen work ethic and his willingness to learn new things. In his spare time Vince loves spending time outside and can often be found fishing, four-wheeling, and spending time with his friends.

Fun Fact: Vince and his girlfriend recently welcomed a new adorable addition to their family, a baby boy name Brayden.


MacKenzie Hingley

Mack lives in Greenfield and works in the yard. As soon as you meet Mack, you notice that he is easy going and likeable. He takes standard and cube truck deliveries and easily adapts to whatever the weather- sunshine, snow, or rain, without complaint. Mack loves being outdoors and can often be found on the banks of a river, fishing. When not spending time outside, Mack is typically driving, listening to his extra-loud car stereo.

Fun Fact: Mack loves coffee and drinks it as much as he can!


Daniel Henley

Daniel has been working at HubCraft in the yard for a few years and is currently a part-time employee while he attends school to become a Medical Lab Technologist. When engaging in conversation, it doesn’t take long to realize that Daniel is friendly and methodical with an upbeat attitude and a solid work ethic. Attentive and courteous, you will always find Daniel with a smile on his face. Aside from attending to customers in the yard, Daniel also takes our standard and cube van deliveries. When at home, Daniel can often be found tinkering away at woodworking projects or relaxing with his family and Sheltie, Indy.

Fun Fact: Daniel has a sweet tooth and is often bringing cookies or chocolate in to share with his coworkers (and we don’t mind at all…).
